Rice County Historical Society
Coronado Quivira Museum

               Welcome to our favorite place!

The east half of our facility began life as a Carnegie Public Library. The late Charlotte Chew gifted the bronze of the Story Books  in 1992.

We are pleased to feature some of the results of extensive archaeological digs in Rice County. Some artifacts were contributed by local farmers, things they found literally on the surface of their properties. Other artifacts are the results of  archaeological expeditions notably by Dr. Waldo Wedel, Dr. Clark Mallam, and Dr. Donald Blakeslee.

Join us for a look into our fascinating past.
